1. Cracks on the plate surface: Even if they are as thin as a hair, it won't do

When the brake disc is in operation, it will repeatedly cool down at high temperatures. If cracks appear on the disc surface (especially radial cracks, from the inner ring to the outer ring), even if they are only 1-2 centimeters long, they should no longer be used - the cracks may expand when the brake is applied, and in severe cases, the brake disc may break directly.

2. Severe deformation of the disc: The "shaking of the foot" when braking is a signal

If you feel the steering wheel or pedal shaking significantly when you step on the brake, it is very likely that the brake disc is deformed (the disc surface is uneven, with an error exceeding 0.1mm). Deformed brake discs can cause uneven braking force, not only affecting comfort but also accelerating the wear of brake pads. Even if the thickness is sufficient, they still need to be replaced - don't believe in "disc repair". Severely deformed discs will become thinner and need to be replaced in no time.

3. Severe rust: Rust to the point where "blisters" cannot be wiped off

Brake discs will rust if left for a long time. Under normal circumstances, they can be worn off by stepping on the brake a few times. However, if the brake is left idle for a long time (for example, parked for more than half a month), rust will penetrate the surface of the disc, forming "rust pits" or "bulges". Even if the surface rust is ground off, it will still cause abnormal brake noise and uneven wear. In this case, it is recommended to replace it directly to avoid damaging the brake pads.
